To the north of Lower Cathedral lake is Medlicott Dome, and nestles against its eastern flank are two small lakes. In May of 2006 I returned to Cathedral Lakes and made the trek up to the Lakes of the Dome. Note the snow on Tressider Peak; Tioga Pass had opened on May 11th due to a shortfall of snow. There was only 40% of average snowpack in the winter of 2006/07.
