These boulders sit on fissured granite slabs, and someday I’ll do them justice by photographing them on 6×7 film.
I returned to Tamarack Flat today as part of my trip over Tioga Pass. Clouds were gathering, and by my return trip were delivering rain, sleet, hail, and yes, snow to our parched Sierra. The Rim Fire burn areas near Tioga Road between Crane Flat and White Wolf must have been hot still, because that section of the road was blanketed with a thick, acrid fog. By the time I got back to my room, they’d closed Tioga Pass.
