My Apple Care saga: You had the good, now for the bad.

When I spoke with Heather at Apple Care, she offered an express swap service. She told me that a hold would be placed on my credit card until I sent my ipad to them. I told her I could not afford that, and I opted for a regular exchange. She said that I would be charged once they got my iPad, and before sending the replacement.
Today I got my balance notification–I’m overdrawn by $22. Apple Care charged my account $303, and then again for $1. I haven’t even gotten the box to send in my iPad.
I tried calling Apple, and they are closed due to the holiday weekend. I tried calling my Bank, and they too are closed due to the holiday weekend.
This is not going well.
So far I’ve got 3 drafts processing. They will either bounce ($10) or be paid (prolly more than $10). Apple is going to reimburse me, will be talking to my bank and getting the overdrafts off my record. This is not acceptable, Apple. Steve Jobs, if you’re listening, this is just plain wrong. I’m a peon, I have damn little cash, and due to your “customer service”, I’m facing embarrassment, a black mark on my banking record, and the inconvenience of not having any liquid assets until Tuesday at the earliest.
I don’t have a large readership. Currently I’ve got about 140 subscribers to this blog. Please pass the word to watch this blog to see what Apple does next. Let’s see how Mr. Jobs handles this mess.
Let’s hope it doesn’t get ugly.

If you can get to the bank and deposit enough cash to cover it (your checks out), it won’t post till tuesday about 2 am. at least with usbank. Been there done it at least 3 times with various vendors..I have learned NEVER to trust what the CS people say when it concerns money. Sorry you had to learn about this in this manner.

I know: I used to work at a bank. Problem is, I don’t have the cash in hand to deposit. I’ve got $5 in my wallet. That’s from tips today.
To further clarify, I go without cash most of the time. I don’t make withdrawals, I use my atm/debit card to make what few purchases I do. If I go over my alloted amount per meal, I pay for it with tips. I rarely have more than $5 in my wallet at any time.
That’s how close I am to the bone.
