I have tried very hard to keep this blog apolitical. With one exception, I think I succeeded. It’s still a beautiful world, regardless of who is president of the USA. But for me, the world became just a bit brighter because Barak Obama was elected 44th president of my country tonight.

To those of my readers who voted for him, I’d like to remind you that Obama has a hard row to hoe over the next 4 years. There’s a lot of repair to be made–our standing in the world, the economy, the war on two fronts, our own way of living gently on the earth, and how we deal with one another. Now is the time to reach out, to our friends and neighbors on the other side of the political divide.

To those who voted for McCain, I truly want you to have good things in your life; a stable job, an employer who respects you and the work you do, financial security, and the status of being a citizen of the shining beacon on the hill.

Remember, I am still and always be a fellow American. And I will remember the same of you.

Good night, and may we all wake to a sweeter, saner America tomorrow.
