Wow – Great shots, but when you say “chemical” erosion, what type of chemical did this? Was it naturally in the soil? Were heading up next month to the Sierra for a camping trip, what area is this in?
Hello, Rick. I have no clue what chemical erosion is; I’m not a geologist. I’m merely quoting the information sheet given out by the interagency visitor center in Lone Pine at the Highway 136 junction on 395. They will be able to give you detailed directions to this particular area. It’s on the East side of the Sierra, about 70 miles south of Bishop.
I’d recommend Google.com for searching for information on erosion.
